Freightstar provides Multimodal Logistics Solutions. The company has already started providing multimodal transport on the Delhi - Nhava Sheva (JNPT) circuit from ICD Loni, with three trains inducted by it in November 2007, January 2008 and March 2008 respectively. More Trains will be inducted into this circuit shortly. We are also closely working on strategic alliances and expanding our network of rail services to other terminals around NCR.
With a Category I License to run Container Trains on all routes in India, Freightstar plans to induct eight additional trains by December 2008. These will be operated on both Exim and Domestic sectors. Ten additional trains are planned for 2009.
Freightstar will Set up Logistics Centres(LC) comprising Inland Container depots (ICDs) and domestic terminals. LCs at Nagpur and NCR will come up by July 2009 and the company is planning to set up more ultra modern LCs in Mumbai, Punjab, Rajasthan and West Bengal. These centres are likely to be completed by April 2010.
The company is also investing in a ‘state of the art’ Information Technology (IT) system. It will form the backbone for track and trace systems for cargo and continuous customer interface using internet/IVR etc.
